Scraplyn AI ("Scraplyn", "we", "us") provides a Chrome extension and web service that helps users extract structured data from websites they choose. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your choices.
1. Information we collect
Account information. When you create an account, we collect your email address, full name, and a password (stored only as a secure hash on our servers).
Scraping and usage data. When you use Scraplyn, we may process:
- URLs and domain names of pages you scrape
- Page HTML sent for AI field detection (processed to suggest scrape fields)
- Scraped data you choose to save (field names, row counts, and extracted content)
- Scrape history stored in your account
- Credit and billing usage (e.g., number of AI scrapes used)
Data stored locally in your browser. The Chrome extension may store locally:
- Login session (auth token)
- Extension settings (such as API server URL)
- Temporary pagination or scraping session state
This data stays in your browser unless sent to our servers as part of a feature you use.
Payment information. Paid subscriptions are processed by Lemon Squeezy. We do not store your full payment card details. Lemon Squeezy may collect billing information according to their own privacy policy.
2. How we use information
We use collected information to:
- Provide AI field suggestions and scraping features
- Authenticate your account and manage sessions
- Store scrape history and templates (for paid users)
- Enforce plan limits (e.g., free trial scrape limits)
- Process subscriptions and billing
- Send account emails (verification, password reset)
- Improve reliability, security, and support
- Monitor abuse and service health
We do not sell your personal information.
3. Third-party services
We use trusted third parties to operate Scraplyn:

Page content sent for AI analysis is transmitted to our servers and then to Anthropic for field detection. Only send Scraplyn pages you are authorized to scrape.
4. When we access websites
Scraplyn accesses website content only when you open the extension on a page you are viewing and start a scrape or AI field suggestion. We do not scrape sites in the background without your action.
You are responsible for complying with each website's terms of service and applicable laws when scraping.
5. Data retention
- Account data is kept while your account is active.
- Scrape history is stored until you delete it or delete your account.
- Local extension data can be cleared by signing out or removing the extension.
- We may retain limited logs for security and billing for a reasonable period.
6. Security
We use industry-standard measures including HTTPS, hashed passwords, and access controls. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.
7. Your choices
You can:
- Access and update account info via your dashboard
- Delete scrape history from the extension history panel
- Sign out to remove local session data
- Uninstall the extension to remove local browser storage
- Cancel paid subscriptions from your dashboard

8. Children's privacy
Scraplyn is not intended for users under 13 (or the minimum age in your country). We do not knowingly collect data from children.
9. International users
Your data may be processed on servers located outside your country. By using Scraplyn, you consent to this processing.
10. Changes
We may update this policy. We will post the new version on this page and update the "Last updated" date.
